13 Simple Ways to Lower Blood Sugar Levels Naturally
Being diagnosed with Type II diabetes can be a nuisance, and it can be difficult to keep blood sugar levels under control or lower.
Sometimes, you may encounter blood sugar levels that are higher than normal (say about 150, for example), but not high enough to need to take more medications. You don't feel very well with the highest blood sugar level, but taking medication can make your blood sugar level too low.

1. Cut the carbohydrates

Your diet is something you want to talk to your doctor, but the simple fact is that a low carb diet makes it easier to maintain stable blood sugar levels. It is part of why you are hearing a lot about the Paleo diet these days.
Carbohydrates are found in starchy foods (roots, grains, rice and legumes) and all their derivatives, such as bread, pasta, sushi, french fries, sweet potatoes and even lentil soup. As someone who has been diabetic for almost 20 years, I can attest that eating a low-carb diet, but rich in green leafy vegetables, nuts, dark fruits such as berries and lean meats has had a surprising effect in controlling my sugar in the blood. I get all the nutrients I need without consuming grains. It takes much more effort to choose low carb snacks on something as delicious as a cake, but it makes a big difference in the way I feel. 2. Spread carbohydrates

For the carbohydrates you eat, try to distribute them evenly throughout the day. For example, if you really love apples, but eating a whole apple increases your blood sugar level, just eat the apple wedge through a wedge over the course of a few hours, instead of doing it all at once. The apple is likely to raise the level of blood sugar, but not by a large increase. If you can keep your blood sugar levels more stable (without big jumps and falls), you will feel less hungry and grumpy.

3. Do some light exercise

Light exercise can lower your blood sugar level, often in a matter of minutes. I'm talking about an energetic walk or a bike ride, not a long run or weightlifting. Strength training can temporarily raise your blood sugar level, but over time, it will help you develop the type of muscle that can burn glucose more efficiently.

5. Sugar free tea

6. A glass of red wine

Many types of alcohol have the effect of reducing overall blood sugar levels (beer may have the opposite effect due to the total carbohydrate content). Red wine reduces blood sugar by preventing the absorption of glucose by the intestines. Cinnamon has been shown to reduce blood sugar, although not effectively in postmenopausal women. To drink enough cinnamon to lower blood sugar, take it as a capsule. I take approximately 3,000 mg at each meal.

Chromium picolinate has been shown to reduce blood sugar levels in type II diabetics in many studies. However, it is easy to follow this particular supplement: it can damage your liver if you take too much.

If you are not a fan of tea, you can also take green tea extract in a pill form.
10. Fenugreek Powder

Fenugreek is a seed that is used in the production of artificial flavors of maple syrup. New mothers are often prescribed to help with the production of breast milk. It also decreases the absorption of sugar in the bloodstream. Although studies showing that fenugreek reduces the blood sugar test, the true seed is soaked in hot water, I have personally used fenugreek powder capsules to lower my blood sugar level. 11. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has been shown to help control blood sugar levels in pre-diabetic and type II diabetics. If you don't want to drink a couple of tablespoons of it, it also comes in an extract, which may be easier to tolerate. Keep in mind that apple cider vinegar takes longer to lower blood sugar levels than other supplements, and may be more effective as a preventive measure than as a reagent.

13. Sleep more

Getting enough sleep is a good way to help decrease your body's insulin resistance. You may even notice that you have a higher blood sugar level when you don't get enough sleep. Actually, bad sleep and high blood sugar are a bit of a vicious circle: once the blood sugar level increases too much, you don't sleep well and, when you don't sleep well, your sugar level in the blood keeps rising.

A quick note on diabetes tips on the Internet:
There are some surprisingly irresponsible articles on the Internet . I'm not going to link them because they don't deserve that suggest eating foods like oranges and grapes to lower blood sugar. This is obviously false information. Not only does eating an orange not lower blood sugar, eating an orange will raise blood sugar possibly requiring medication to lower it.
Remember, there are no miraculous foods that will cure diabetes.
